Sens-Castet and Cooke were on fire throughout the match, winning 10-8 and 10-9 (7-5 in tiebreaker) at third and fourth singles, respectively, and when Nickerson earned a 10-4 win at sixth singles, Mount Saint Vincent tied the match at 3 apiece heading into doubles play. After the Mount dropped the first singles round 8-6, Cooke and Sens-Castet tied the match once again with an 8-5 win at second doubles. The win set up a winner-take-all match at third doubles, but Nickerson and Mike Maurer (Hampton, NH/Winnaconnet HS) fell 8-2 to give the match to the Gryphons.
Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Sunday, April 23 when they host Stevens at noon. The match will be the final home contest of the 2006 season for the Dolphins.
