Men’s Lacrosse now 1-8 after 20-1 loss to Red Hawks
Reynolds nets Dolphins’ only goal in fourth quarter; MSV out-shot 44-15
4/21/2006 - (Montclair, NJ) – Sophomore Jason Reynolds (Centereach, NY/Middle Country HS) scored his 10th goal of the season - Mount Saint Vincent’s only goal of the game with 14:08 remaining in the fourth quarter - and fellow sophomore Tom Egan (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet HS) made a game-high nine saves, but the Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Lacrosse team lost its third straight game, 20-1 to Montclair State during a game played Friday afternoon at Montclair. With the loss, Mount Saint Vincent falls to 1-8 for the 2006 season.

The game was all Montclair from the start as the Red Hawks (8-7) opened up a 9-0 lead after the first quarter, and led 12-0 at halftime. The lead was extended to 17-0 before Reynolds scored unassisted on an outside shot to open the fourth quarter of play. Montclair out-shot the Mount, 44-15, and out-scooped the Dolphins 32-22 while Mount Saint Vincent committed 33 turnovers compared to Montclair’s 17.

The brightest spot for Mount Saint Vincent on Friday was their play at the face-off X as the Dolphins won more draws than their opponents for the first time in 2006 with a 13-12 edge.

Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Sunday, April 23 when they travel to Dominican College for a 4:00 p.m. game. The game was originally scheduled for a 1:00 start, but has been switched for a 4:00 opening face-off.
