Men’s Lacrosse downed by Colonials, 17-4 to fall to 1-7
Egan makes 18 saves but Dolphins lose second straight game
4/12/2006 - (Danbury, CT) – Sophomore Tom Egan (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet HS) made 18 saves and four different Dolphins found the back of the net, but the Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Lacrosse team lost its second straight game, 17-4 to Western Connecticut during a game played at Western Connecticut. With the loss, the Dolphins fall to 1-7 for the 2006 season.

The Colonials went on a run from the opening face-off and scored the game’s first 14 goals, a run that lasted until less than 10 minutes remained in the third quarter. At that point, Brendan Dunbar (Floral Park, NY/Floral Park HS), James Doyle (Brooklyn, NY/Xaverian), and Ryan O’Dougherty (Bronx, NY/Kennedy HS) scored consecutive goals during a three-minute span to cut into the deficit, but Western Connecticut finished the game scoring three of the games final four goals. Jason Reynolds (Centereach, NY/Middle Country HS) scored the fourth Dolphin goal.

Mount Saint Vincent was out-shot 62-23, and Western Connecticut out-scooped the Mount 53-34.

Mount Saint Vincent now has a nine-day break between games and will travel to Montclair State on Friday, April 21 at 4:00 p.m. for their next contest.
