Sens-Castet/Cooke victorious at second doubles
4/6/2006 - (Riverdale, NY) – Sophomores
Nicholas Sens-Castet (Brooklyn, NY/St.
John’s Prep) and Garret Cooke
(Wickford, RI/Bishop Hendricken) were victorious at second
doubles, and Sens-Castet and sophomore Michael
Maurer (Hampton, NH/Winnaconnet HS) played
tremendous singles matches in the 8-1 loss to Cooper
Union during a match played at Mount Saint Vincent. With
the loss, the Dolphins fall to 0-3 in the Hudson
Valley Men’s Athletic Conference (HVMAC).
After the Dolphins were swept in singles competition with Sens-Castet and Maurer falling 10-6 and 10-8 at third and sixth singles, respectively, the Sens-Castet/Cooke duo was dominant at second doubles, winning 8-1. The match would prove to be the lone highlight for the Mount, although the team did enjoy several outstanding efforts throughout the competition.
Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Sunday, April 9 when they host St. Joseph’s (LI) in a Skyline Conference match at 1:00 p.m.
