Men’s Tennis battles but drops to 0-4 with 8-1 loss
to Webbies
Ross victorious in second singles; Dolphins give Webb stiff
competition throughout the match; host Cooper Union on

Ross (Wilton, ME/Mount Blue HS) won a spectacular
10-8 match at second singles, and Ross and Chris
MacDonald (Farmingdale, NY/Plainedge HS) lost an
exciting 8-5 match at first singles as the Mount Saint
Vincent Men’s Tennis team lost a competitive
8-1 match to the Webb Institute during a match played
at Mount Saint Vincent on Tuesday. With the loss, the Mount
fell to 0-4, including an 0-2 record in Hudson Valley
Men’s Athletic Conference (HVMAC) play.
After MacDonald was swept 10-0 at first singles, Ross won for the first time this season in the #2 slot, and then Garrett Cooke (Wickford, RI/Bishop Hendricken), Nicholas Sens-Castet (Brooklyn, NY/St. John’s Prep), and Marcus Frederic (Flushing, NY/Holy Cross) offered incredible battles at the next three singles, losing 10-5, 10-7, and 10-5, respectively. The Mount was also swept in second and third doubles, 8-3 and 8-0.
Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Thursday, April 6 when they host Cooper Union at 4:00 p.m.
