Things got off to a promising start for the Mount as the Dolphins won the opening draw, moved the ball well for more than two minutes and Nadhir found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. However, things fell apart quickly for the Dolphins as Vassar reeled off six straight goals and 10 of the next 11 tallies and took a 10-2 lead en route to a 13-4 halftime advantage. The second half saw a much more competitive effort by the Mount as the teams played to a 5-5 tie, but the rough first half was too much for the Dolphins to overcome. Vassar controlled possession thanks to a 48-32 ground ball advantage, and an 18-11 edge in draw controls.
Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Tuesday, April 4 when they travel to Manhattanville College for the first Skyline Conference Women’s Lacrosse game in Mount Saint Vincent history at 3:30 p.m.
