Men’s Tennis falls to 0-3 with 7-0 loss to Blue Knights
MacDonald drops heartbreaker once again; Dolphins now 0-2 in Skyline Conference; host Webb on Tuesday
3/31/2006 - (Newburgh, NY) – Senior Chris MacDonald (Farmingdale, NY/Plainedge HS) has quickly earned a reputation as one of the peskiest first singles players in the Skyline Conference. Every time he takes the court, he seems to push his opponent to the limit. And as the Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Tennis team continues to build, it is MacDonald who will lead the way with his fine play. Unfortunately for MacDonald, despite his outstanding play, he has yet to win a singles match this season. His latest fine performance came on Friday when he lost a 6-3, 7-6 thriller at first singles when Mount Saint Vincent dropped its third straight match, 7-0 to the Blue Knights. The Dolphins are now 0-2 in Skyline play.

MacDonald was sensational once again, losing in straight sets, but most of the individual games went to deuce. Also for the Mount, Arnold Ross (Wilton, ME/Mount Blue) fell 6-2, 6-2 at second singles, and Nicholas Sens-Castet (Brooklyn, NY/St. John’s Prep) and Garrett Cooke (Wickford, RI/Bishop Hendricken), were defeated at third and fourth singles, respectively, 6-1, 6-1, and 6-2 6-2. Mount Saint Mary also swept doubles play, but the Mount did offer a fight, particularly at third doubles as the team of Michael Maurer (Hampton, NH/Winnaconnet HS) and Joe Nickerson (Summit, NJ/Hudson Catholic) dropped an outstanding 8-4 match.

Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Tuesday, April 4 when they host the Webb Institute at 4:00 p.m.
