Men’s Tennis drops second straight match, 7-2 to Pratt
MacDonald loses at first singles in tie-breaker; Dolphins now 0-2, 0-1 HVMAC
3/28/2006 - (Brooklyn, NY) – Senior Chris MacDonald (Farmingdale, NY/Plainedge HS) lost an incredible match at first singles, 10-9 after a 7-2 loss in the tie-breaker, and the Dolphins were victorious at sixth singles and third doubles, but the Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Tennis team lost its second straight match, 7-2 to Pratt during a match contested at the Pratt Institute. With the loss, Mount Saint Vincent falls to 0-2 on the season and 0-1 in the Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference (HVMAC).

MacDonald was simply sensational against Ondel Hylton, one of the best singles players in the HVMAC, but fell just short. The Mount’s Arnold Ross (Wilton, ME/Mount Blue) fell 10-3 at second singles, and Garrett Cooke (Wickford, RI/Bishop Hendricken) and Mike Maurer (Hampton, NH/Winnaconnet HS) fell by the same 10-3 scores at third and fourth singles, respectively, to fall behind 4-0. Pratt then sealed the match with a 10-0 win at fifth singles. After that point, Mount Saint Vincent won two of the final four matches to make things closer.

Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Thursday, March 30 when they travel to Mount Saint Mary for a 6:30 p.m. match.
