Men’s Tennis swept by Yeshiva during 2006 season opener
MacDonald loses thriller at first singles; Dolphins travel to Pratt on Tuesday
3/25/2006 - (Riverdale, NY) – The Men’s Tennis team came out swinging after a one year hiatus at the College of Mount Saint Vincent.  The Mount was swept by Yeshiva 9-0 during their 2006 season home opener. Despite the loss, the Dolphins proved to be competitive during their first match and optimism is high that the 2006 season will be a success.

Senior Chris MacDonald (Farmingdale, NY/Plainedge HS) enjoyed the most competitive match of the day at first singles, falling 10-4 during a match that was far closer than the score indicated. He later joined sophomore Garrett Cooke (Wickford, RI/Bishop Hendricken) at first doubles and lost a competitive 8-2 match. The rest of the Mount’s first singles fell 10-1, and the Dolphins failed to capture more than two games in any doubles match against a powerful and undefeated Yeshiva squad.

Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Tuesday, March 28 when they travel to the Pratt Institute for their Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) opener at 6:30 p.m.
