Men’s Lacrosse falls to 0-4 with 21-4 loss to Pride
Downes, Gabriel score two goals apiece; Egan: 20 saves; Dolphins allow seven extra man goals
3/14/2006 - (Greensboro, NC) – Bryan Winter and James Doyle scored two goals apiece, and sophomore goalie Tom Egan had another outstanding game with 20 saves, but the Mount Saint Vincent Men’s Lacrosse team fell to 0-4 with a 21-4 loss to Greensboro College on Monday. The Dolphins were outscored 12-3 during the first half as penalty trouble did the Mount in. Greensboro converted seven of their 11 extra man opportunities, putting the Mount in a major hole they were unable to overcome despite a fine effort by Egan and company.

The first 10 minutes of the game were dead-even as Greensboro opened the scoring only three minutes into the contest, but the Mount tied the score at 10:28 as Winter scored on a Jason Reynolds assist. Greensboro then scored five straight goals to close the first quarter, including two goals during the final minute, to take a 6-1 lead. The Greensboro depth took over during the second and third quarters as the Pride outshot the Mount 34-12 during that stretch, and 68-18 for the game.

Mount Saint Vincent now has nine days to prepare for their next game as they take the field again on Wednesday, March 22 when they travel to Manhattanville for a 7:00 p.m. game.
