The TRIO Student Support Services Program (SSS) has provided educational, professional and cultural enrichment to its participants since 1997 through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The program enhances the academic performance, retention, and graduation rates of its participants through comprehensive support services to selected low-income, first-generation and/or disabled college students.

TRIO provides the following programs to assist students with academic and professional growth:

• Academic Advocacy
  This program provides students with academic counseling and support to help
  them excel in academic course-work.
  
• Leadership Development
  Students are encouraged to participate in class forums allowing them to learn leadership
  skills, activity and program development, and collaboration.
  
• The Mentor/Buddy Program
  This program utilizes upper class students who are carefully selected and matched with
  incoming freshmen to assist with transition and issues associated with entering college
  
• Computer and Technology Program
  The Trio Lab provides students access to state of the art computers. Each computer is
  linked to the Internet and a printer. Individualized assistance is provided for the various
  computer software programs offered in the Trio Lab.
