DiNizo had her finest statistical week of the season, averaging 16.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2 assists per game, and she got much better with each game as the week went along. After an eight point effort during a 66-48 loss to USMMA-Kings Point last Tuesday, DiNizo scored 13 points and added four rebounds during a 77-58 loss to nationally-ranked Muhlenberg on Thursday. Then on Saturday, the senior erupted for a career-high 29 points on 13 for 25 shooting as the Mount downed the College of New Rochelle, 81-44. For her efforts, DiNizo was named to the Skyline Conference Honor Roll and PrestoSports/MBWA Honor Roll as well, as she is now eighth in the Skyline Conference in scoring with 12.7 points per game.
Gomes had an equally solid week, earning HVWAC Rookie of the Week for the third time during a five-week span. She had a monster game against Muhlenberg on Thursday when she notched her first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Two days later, she was a huge part of the Mount’s rout of New Rochelle when she scored 13 points and added six rebounds and six assists. For the season, Gomes is fifth on the team in scoring with 7.8 points per game, and is second on the team with 65 assist

Mount Saint Vincent’s regular season is over as the Dolphins finished with a 7-15 overall record, including a 2-10 mark in Skyline Conference play and a 4-1 record in the HVWAC. They have earned a bye in Thursday’s HVWAC Quarterfinals and will take the court against the winner of the Quarterfinal game between St. Elizabeth and Yeshiva on Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Pratt Institute. The time for that game will be announced on Friday. The Mount is also still in the running for a trip to the Skyline Conference playoffs, but will not know their fate in the Skyline until the weekend.
