1/4/2006 - (Patchogue, NY) – Two nights after their finest defensive performance of the 2005-06 season during a 78-71 overtime loss to NYU, Mount Saint Vincent was unable to repeat the effort on Wednesday night, dropping their seventh straight game, 86-76 to St. Joseph’s (LI) during a game played at St. Joseph’s. With the loss, Mount Saint Vincent falls to 3-9 overall and 1-4 in the Skyline Conference.
The Dolphins struggled from the beginning and trailed 37-21 with 7:14 remaining in the first half. However, a 12-0 Mount Saint Vincent run to end the first half made it a 37-33 game. Overall, St. Joseph’s (6-5, 1-1 Skyline Conference) converted 11 three-point field goal attempts and outrebounded Mount Saint Vincent 42-38, including a 17-12 edge on the offensive boards.
