Three Mount Saint Vincent Volleyball players named to HVWAC All-Conference Team
Dauphinais earns third straight selection, Predergast/Martinez selected for the first time
11/9/2005 - (Riverdale, NY) – After winning the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Regular Season Championship and advancing to the HVWAC Championship Game, the Mount Saint Vincent Women’s Volleyball team was rewarded today with three selections to the All-Conference team. Senior Jacqui Dauphiniais (North Yarmouth, MA/Dennis-Yarmouth Regional HS) was selected to the All-Conference team for the third straight year, while junior Roxanne Predergast (Center Moriches, NY/Westhampton Beach HS) and sophomore Edeana Martinez (Bronx, NY/St. Catherine’s HS) were both selected for the first time.

Dauphinais earned the honor after an outstanding senior campaign in which she finished second on the team in kills (151), service aces (65) and digs (210), while adding 23 assists as an outside hitter. A tri-captain, Dauphinais had 10 or more kills in a game three times this season, and 10 or more digs eight times. Dauphinais was also the HVWAC Player of the Week on Oct. 3.

Predergast had a dominant junior season, leading the Mount in kills (250) and digs (218), while finishing second on the team with a .157 attack percentage, and third on the team with 56 service aces. She had an amazing five double-doubles, registered 10 or more kills in a match 11 times, and had at least 10 digs in a match seven times. Predergast was also the HVWAC Player of the Week on Oct. 10, and earned Skyline Conference Honor Roll an incredible seven straight weeks.

Martinez was named All-Conference after a tremendous first season as a starter, as she led both Mount Saint Vincent and the Skyline Conference with 130 total blocks. She also had 105 kills. Three times this season, Martinez had 10 or more blocks in a match, and had at least five blocks in 14 matches.

Mount Saint Vincent finished the 2005 season with a 14-19 overall record, including a 10-1 record in the HVWAC and a 1-7 Skyline Conference record.
